For a long time, the issues of international HRM, multiculturalism or employee adaptation have been an area of interests of foreign and national researchers. However, it is difficult to fiind research or scientific papers that would cover the abovementioned issues in a complex way. The project devoted to employee adaptation in an international work environment should thus bring value added to management sciences. On the basis of the planned literature studies and empirical research, it will be possible to:
- identify the current state of knowledge about adaptation in an international work environment by indicating stages and dimensions of the aforementioned process, entities
- involved, possible adaptation tools as well as the method of measuring its effectiveness
- assess whether the degree of internationalization of work environment has impact on the aforementioned process, and if so, to what degree
- indicate individual characteristics of employees, determining particular success of the adaptation process
- identify degree to which the external environment determines the discussed process
- assess the process of implementation of newly admitted employees and develop good practices related to employee adaptation
- develop a model describing in a complex way the process of employee adaptation in an international work environment.
The effect of the research work has a chance to become also helpful for the individuals who have started or consider starting work in an international work environment, by directing or making them aware of adaptation mechanisms and impact of the cultural factor on the adaptation process.
